- The term is 4 years with a possible second 4 year term.
Salary

- Salary of at least $400,000
- $50,000 expenses

- Use of two presidential residences, the White House and
Camp David in Maryland
- Use of an airplane, Air Force One
- Use of a helicopter, Marine One
- Many staff members including a personal chef to assist him
in both his professional duties and private life.
Job
Functions
- Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces.
- As Commander in
Chief of the Armed Forces, the
President may declare
an emergency and call out the military Reserves.
- He may also order the armed forces into
military action before Congress actually declares
war.
- Make
treaties with foreign nations, with two-thirds consent of the Senate

Receive ambassadors and other public ministers from foreign countries

Appoint ambassadors, Supreme Court justices, federal judges

Appoint any officials as provided for by the Congress, with the approval of the
Senate
- Give
an annual State of the Union Address to Congress

Recommend legislation to Congress

Convene Congress on extraordinary occasions

Adjourn Congress, in cases of a disagreement about adjournment
- Fill
in administrative vacancies during Congressional recesses
- Grant
reprieves and pardons for offences against the
U.S.
